GENERAL
NEW MOTORCYCLES
New motorcycles purchased include 12 months registration, 12 months CTP with provider chosen by the buyer (Allianz, QBE, Suncorp), Stamp Duty, Administration Costs, Uncrate/Assemble/Pre-Delivery Costs, unless stated otherwise, which is listed on each motorcycle listed advert. Of course, this excludes motorcycles that cannot be registered. A motorcycle with a VIN cannot always be registered, they must be on NEVDIS and approved for registration by national authorities. We cannot apply for motorcycles not approved to be registered, such as motocross or race bikes.
USED MOTORCYCLES
Used motorcycles purchased include 6 months registration, unless existing registration exists, to which the remaining balance is transferred to the buyer, or a lesser term is stated or negotiated upon sale. The sale also includes Stamp Duty, Adminstration Costs. Excludes motorcycles that cannot be registered. All used bikes are sold with Clear Title per PPSR result and a Safety Certificate (where applicable) for QLD registration transfers or estabishment, as we are bound by the Motor Dealers Act and clear title is a must before releasing the bike. If a motorcycle is still encumbered say, when we trade-in and pay out finance, and the lender has yet to release the bike, we will withhold the motorcycle until the lender finalises their actions for Clear Title. This is a rare occurance.
REGISTRATION IN QUEENSLAND
Buyers must hold a valid QLD Customer Reference Number (CRN) for registration to be included on motorcycles sold, new or used. We are not authorised for any State/Territory registration outside of Queensland, as we are too far away to be granted such authorisation from the nearest office. For interstate or unlicenced buyers, unregistered pricing will apply, excluding Stamp Duty. Motorcycles then must be collected by trailer or vehicle and not ridden from the store (unless a permit has been obtained by the buyer).
RAV REPLACED COMPLIANCE PLATES
Road Vehicle Standards Act 2018 now applies. This involved the phasing out of identification plates (aka compliance plates) on motorcycles. Majority of motorcycles, unlike cars, did not have a build plate. A build date was determined then as the compliance date.
As compliance plates now no longer exist for new motorcycles from 1 July 2021 with a two-year transitional period to be in full-force 1 July 2023, us, the dealer and you, the public, can search a VIN on the RAV website. This result provides a build date (month/year) and a RAV Approval Date (date/month/year). The RAV Approval Date, which can only be provided once the motorcycle is in Australia, is the equivilant to the compliance date of old. Motorcycles with existing compliance plates do not change to RAV. We register motorcycles with the build and RAV approval date (compliance date) taken from the RAV website search result. At times, motorcycles will be registered by others (dealers, government authorties) incorrectly with build/RAV dates not looked up prior. We take these into consideration for trade-in used stock but do not submit an amendment unless requested or massively incorrect.
MODEL YEAR vs REGISTRATION YEAR
Australian States and Territories base their Model Year of motorcycles (and cars, etc) on the build year. For instance, a motorcycle built 10/2022 would be a 2022 model on registration. This is regardless of the manufacturer model year. For instance, a MY23 can be build in 10/2022. This will show on registration as a 2022 model, even though the Contract of Sale and Manufacturer Database shows 2023 model. Australia is the only country to our knowledge to work on this principal, and being that many of our motorcycles imported are from Asia or Europe, they work on the year registered as the year of the motorcycle. This is as the motorcycle is still crated, or only assembled, and not yet running or on the street until purchased and first registered. We always refer to the model year of the motorcycle as it's genuine year, by the manufacturer database we have as approved brands, or where applicable the 10th digit in the VIN (for Triumph this is the 11th digit, for Suzuki this doesn't apply at all). You can search the RAV database for the build date of your motorcycle (see above point RAV REPLACING COMPLIANCE PLATES) hence why this year displays on your registration certificate.
ACTIVE RECALLS AND OWNERSHIP TRANSFER
No motorcycle can be released until all recalls are complete (applies to brands we can actively confirm). Delays may apply due to parts supply or appointments available at other branded dealers for makes we don't sell new. We recommend all motorcycles purchased second-hand from us, that are not brands we have new, are taken to the dealer that sells that brand new, and recalls checked and your details are placed against the VIN as the current now-owner, for future recalls and the like. For brands we sell new, we transfer ownership with the manufacturer once delivered.
SINGLE SEAT OPTION
This type of option is only available in Queensland (not other States/Territories) where a motorcycle normally approved for 2 persons can be modified to suit only 1 person, with a reduction in CTP. A reminder: registration and CTP are seperate, although you pay for them together on your registration renewal. CTP Class 12 is rider only; CTP Class 13 is rider and pillion. There is no time ever you can pillion should you have CTP Class 12. It is the equivilant of two seats in a van and none in the cargo area; no-one can sit in the cargo area on a non-approved seat whilst driving. Requirements exist to be eligible for Class 12, which are the rider's responsibility (previously undertaken by authorised stations with a modification plate and certificate). This means you, the registered owner, can complete a Change in Circumstances Form with Queensland Transport and Main Roads (QMTR) to either increase from 1 to 2 or decrease from 2 to 1 your seating capacity. Specifications are required such as seat length and rear pegs fitted. We are aware its rare than any QTMR inspector will want to sight the motorcycle first and there are many bikes fitted with seats and pegs that are for rider's only on CTP to save money annually. As it's the rider's responsibility, we will not register a motorcycle as single seating unless it meets the requirements per QTMR. We are aware of customers who have been caught and blame the dealer immediately, to which our team will not be subject to. To avoid this, you the registered owner can visit QTMR following delivery to make the modification. We are aware other dealers do not take this seriously, and good luck to them should something horrible happen such as a major life threatening accident and they are investigated.
USED MOTORCYCLE WARRANTY
All used motorcycles sold in Queensland do not come with a Statutory Warranty per Fair Trading Legislation. Our workshop inspects a motorcycle prior to leaving for any unnoticed faults. We encourage owners who have recently purchased to contact our store via the selling salesperson immediately, should in the unlikely event a problem arise shortly after delivery, so we can address the situation promptly. Current warranties offered when Consumer Rights apply are a hot discussion with ASIC at present with future potential Government Invervention, we feel they are not worth the spend to purchase therefore do not offer them as respect to our customers for not needing to pay for what they don't need.
FREIGHTING
Freight is available with specialist carriers door-to-door, rolling transport (not crated), subject to freighter reachability and location. Limits may apply to brand new motorcycles depending on our manufacturer agreements, where a handover in-person is to be conducted prior to freight dispatch. We also deliver and collect motorcycles locally using one of our enclosed vans.
PAYMENT AND RELEASE
All motorcycles will be released once funds are received, cleared in our account, in full. This includes online transfers and finance settlements. Remittances or screen shots of online banking are not accepted. For security reasons, banks will withhold your transfer for 24hrs or more as a window for you to notice suspicious acitivity and stop the payment. Due to this window, we will not release the motrocycle until funds are clear, to prevent delivery and then the payment stopped. Although paying by cash is becoming rare, any amounts over $10,000 will be reported to AUSTRAC using a TTR form for Anti-Money Laundering or Suspicious Matters.
GENERAL DISCLAIMER
The price is subject to change without notice due to reasons beyond our control and timely manner of the website editing and access and publishing live. The illustrated vehicles may vary in selected details from the production model and some illustrations feature optional equipment available at additional cost. All information concerning the scope of supply, appearance, services, dimensions and weights is non-binding and specified with the proviso that mistakes, printing, setting and typing errors may occur; such information is subject to change without notice. No rights may be derived from incorrect statements. Engine power figures are taken from the Queensland Transport and Main Roads database, or manufacturer data, or Redbook, when available. These figures are the engineered approved national power outputs at time of publishing and the actual motorcycle if tested may vary with the result due to variances and use or if modified. Take the power figures as a general guide only. Fuel consumption or range figures provided are a guide only and do not reflect real-world conditions such as rider and passenger weight, luggage weight, wind, throttle application, tyre pressure or gradiant of road of surface type. Manufacturers generally shy away from fuel consumption on motorcycles as unlike a car where the drag coificient is mostly regular, the variance of riding is too great.
AS PHOTOGRAPHED
Used motorcycle images are taken on-site by staff and may not display all included extras (eg, not fitted and stored). If extras are fitted, removed standard parts may not be available. We are under no obligation to supply standard parts in place of fitted extras. If standard parts are provided by the previous owner, we will store these and pass them to the next buyer, who must collect them within 28 days of motorcycle collection otherwise they will be destroyed or sold to others. Not all used motorcycles come with spare keys, books or service history - this depends on what was supplied to us at time of acquisition, however we do strive to obtain this where we can.
